Church In Real Life
Youth Night
Our next youth night is scheduled for Saturday, November 9th from 4-8pm at the Lindmark's house. Joe has kindly offered to coach the youth through a synchronized swimming routine in their pool (please pack swimsuits and towels). The time will also include sharing a meal together, and then continuing our study through the Sermon on the Mount.
Saturday, November 9th | 4-8pm
We currently meet once a month to learn and grow. Every meeting is different. Sometimes it's a party. Sometimes it's a service project. Often we have deep theological conversations. 7th-12th graders from inside and outside the church are welcome to join.
Sempre Reformanda
On October 31st 1517, Martin Luther famously nailed his 95 theses to the Wittenberg door, prompting a debate, and setting off a cascade of doctrinal shifts in an effort to return to the Scriptures. This movement would spread far and wide for many years and would ultimately culminate in what we now fondly refer to as the Protestant Reformation.
If you call yourself a Christian (and are not Roman Catholic), then you are Reformed, and you are Protestant. We are “Protestants” so we affirm the Five Solas of the Reformation.
Sola Scriptura
The Bible is our only infallible authority.
Sola Fide
Faith alone unites us to Christ and justifies us before God.
Sola Gratia
We are saved by the grace of God alone.
Solus Christus
Jesus is the only mediator to God.
Soli Deo Gloria
God alone saved, so God alone gets the glory.
A Quiver Full
God has blessed our church with three babies on the way! We have been praying for this blessing for many months, and we want to celebrate God’s grace in providing answer to our prayers. What joy to welcome new life into the world!
Psalm 127:3–5
Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.
Join us as we continue to pray for God’s mercy and kindness to be upon these mother’s during their pregnancy. Ask God to extend His grace to the husbands and wives as they patiently prepare for this next season of life and the adventures that await.

Things God Has Done
This past Sunday, Pastor Andrew preached through Acts 21:17-26. This passaged marked a significant transition as we now move towards the final section in the Book of Acts.
Acts 21:19–20
After greeting them, he related one by one the things that God had done among the Gentiles through his ministry. And when they heard it, they glorified God.
We want to imitate Paul and the early disciples by frequently sharing with one another the marvelous things God has done in our lives. As we recount those things, we glorify our great Savior who never ceases to give good gifts to His children.
Let us endeavor to affirm the great stories of God’s grace and mercy that He lavishly pours out daily upon His people.
3rd Annual Chili Bowl
On Sunday, October 13th, following the church service, we will feast on chili and judge one another in the process.
Chili Bowl 2024
Enter your chili for the competition, and have the chance of a life time: to win the 2024 Chili Bowl. Be creative and come up with a name for your chili (e.g.: Afterburn, Fire In The Hole, Lake Of Fire). You’re not a chili chef? No problem. Make whatever chili-themed meal you like. If you call it chili, we will judge it!
Sunday, October 13th
This year’s winner will have their name engraved on the legendary Grace Hill Chili Bowl - to be proudly displayed in the Grace Hill trophy case for all to be amazed!
The Hill 2.0
At our recent Member Meeting, we informed you that we would be transitioning to The Planning Center Online. The PCO is a set of software tools that will help us organize information, coordinate events and scheduling, improve giving options and communication, and help us connect with one another.
You can create your personal account and download the app to stay connected and follow along. Thanks for your patience as we navigate our way through the transition. We will keep you updated with any relevant changes and progress.
S. S. S.
At our recent Member Meeting on September 8th, the Pastors discussed their desire to focus our efforts on three simple things: (1) Sunday Service, (2) Small Groups, and (3) Study of Scripture.
Sunday
We gather every Sunday to rehearse and respond to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our liturgy elements within the service reflect two things: a deep passion for God and a shared heritage with the historic church. Our Sunday mornng gathering is how we most clearly assemble as one body. This is how we grow and visibly demonstrate our unity.
Hebrews 10:24–25
Let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
Small Group
Our small groups encourage genuine relationships within the church, developing the kinds of relationships that will help us mature and persevere in the Faith together. This context is designed to create space where we intentionally discuss and interact with the sermon, pray for one another, and practice the many “one another”s of scripture. This is truly an “every member” ministry. Meetings occur in a home every 1st & 3rd week, splitting their time between praying and discussion.
1 Peter 4:8–11
Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
Study
Our time devoted to studying the Scriptures is a supplement to growing in the Word in community. In addition to gathering together on Sunday morning and engaging in regular fellowship in our Small Groups, we are encouraging everyone to seek the many opportunities to grow in God’s Word. We do this primarily through discipleship efforts like Sunday School, Fire On The Hill, Rethinking Retirement, and our Men’s & Women’s Bible Study groups.
Romans 15:4
For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
Register for our Men’s or Women’s Study. They begin this October!
Chaos In The Church
Throughout history, every generation has encountered a moment or two of crisis and chaos, usually manifested in a unique way specific to the context of each local church. The letter of 1 Corinthians was penned primarily because there were particular issues of discipleship, belief, and ethics that Paul wanted to address, but the underlying issue was the chaos of disunity among the believers. The principles found in this letter are timeless, regardless of culture, technology, and specific situations.
Women’s Study | Mondays @ 6:30pm
During the months of October and November the men and women will begin working their way through an eight week study of Paul’s first letter to the church in Corinth. The women will be meeting Monday evenings beginning October 7th, while the men will be meeting Thursday evenings, beginning October 1st.
Men’s Study | Thursdays @ 7:00pm
We are excited for another opportunity to meet during the week, open and discuss God’s Word, and encourage one another in the Faith. There will be some additional resources available for those who desire to attend the study. Please complete the registration form below to let the leaders know you’re planning to come.
